8^th November Plenary Panel Suggestions:

• World trade risk being splintered into regional trading areas. How will regionalisation in a new era some are calling “slobalisation”  impact China and Europe’s trade ?

• Capital and debt markets – how do the ongoing liberalisation of China’s debt, capital and asset management sectors create new opportunities for European companies?

• What steps is China taking to improve the development of its internal and external trade in services, including opening the finance, education, culture, and medical treatment sectors?

• European pension and infrastructure funds have a strong demand for more Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) and Asian long-term infrastructure assets. They need higher long-term growth to match ageing linked liabilities. What governance standards need to be adopted to secure greater deployment of their capital?

• The EU and China are the only serious actors developing carbon trading markets. How can these markets be deepened, strengthened and how do they directly feed into a low carbon agenda? What are the key areas for Sino-European cooperation around Green Funding and Finance?

• Cross border M&A and FDI shrank substantially in 2017 and 2018 between China and Europe but some commentators are forecasting growth again soon and pent up demand. In what ways can Europe and China inject new momentum? Will there be an increase of higher quality deals?

• Where are the most logical gaps and spaces for China and Europe’s fintech and payment tech companies to trade and invest?

• The Autotech and Mobility tech sectors are exploding in growth, led by China. What initiatives are capturing deeper China and European corporate cooperation, trade and FDI?

• How can China and Europe work together to harness new Medi-Technologies to address their shared problem of ageing societies?

• How is the development of a medical insurance market fostering the growth of the medical service sector in China and where are the opportunities for European companies?
